Initial release.
The goal of this mod is to add more endgame variety to processing crops, beyond the typical ancient fruit or starfruit wines, without adding a huge amount of new items or complexity.
To accomplish this, the mod includes a new machine, the Still, which:
Process wines and mashes into alcohols.
Unlocks at Farming level 9, from a letter the next day.
Is built using 10 Copper, 5 Iron, and 1 Iridium.
Requires 1 Coal and takes about 1 day for all operations.
Currently included products and processes:
Distill 4 Wine into 1 Brandy.
Distill 4 Mashes into 1 Vodka.
Distill 1 Vodka and 1 Juniper Berry into 1 Gin.
Forage bushes for Juniper Berries during Fall 21-24.
Distill 4 Cactus Fruit Wine into 1 Tequila Blanco.
Keg Tequila Blanco into Tequila Añejo.
Distill 4 Corn Mash into 1 Moonshine.
Keg Moonshine into Whiskey.
All alcohols retain the input product quality.
All alcohols can be put in casks to improve quality.
New in version 1.0.3:
Keg Unmilled Rice (or Juice, depending on config options) into Sake
Distill 4 Sake into 1 Soju
Distill 4 Beet Mash into 1 White Rum
Keg White Rum into Dark Rum
New in version 1.0.6:
Moved Juniper Berry logic to Bush Bloom Mod in order to increase compatibility with other mods.
New in version 2.0.0:
Automatic transition from older bundler modification to current - this requires no user interaction
Bush Bloom Mod is now an optional dependency - if you aren't using it, Holly will be required instead of Juniper Berry for making Gin
Supports i18n translations
Basic integration with CJB Item Spawner - you can pull correctly priced, named, and flavored items now
Added a new Piña Colada recipe - you must have the Still recipe and have 6 hearts with Gus to receive it
Slightly rebalanced some item prices
Flavored items (Vodka, Gin, and Brandy) have lightly-colored sprites now
Slightly reworked various sprites.
New in version 2.1.0:
Moved Sake object and logic from MoreSensibleJuices to this mod. Sake mimics Beer and Pale Ale both by having a higher than typical price given the input product, and by replacing the base crop with Juice.
Auto price balancing is no longer dynamic, but recognized common balancing mods. If the mod you are using isn't automatically recognized, you can manually set BalancePrices to true
Since the stilling process essentially concentrates 4 fruits or vegetables into a single product, this also means you need less casks overall to increase your product quality. Simply put the final product in your casks. It takes a full season to age from normal quality to iridium quality, the same as wine.
The end result is that Tequila, Whiskey, and Gin are reasonable alternatives to Ancient Fruit or Starfruit Wine. Brandy keeps the same overall profit-per-day ratio as Wine, but still benefits from the improved cask usage.
Lastly, if no other mod has made changes to The Missing bundle, this mod will swap the silver-quality Wine for a silver-quality Brandy.
